Our online waitlist portal which ran from 09/16/17 – 09/24/17 received 2,304 applications for the section 8 waitlist.
From the entire pool of applicants, JHC had the following number of occurrences:
1464 Jackson County Resident 126 Elderly (62) or older 772 Disabled 32 U.S. Veteran 833 Homeless 240 Involuntarily Displaced
1,000 applicants were chosen at random by 3rd party computer software and applicants will be notified by mail as to whether their lottery number was pulled. Applicants will then be required to attend an orientation, followed by a one-on-one interview, and must submit all required documentation. Waitlist applicants must keep their contact information updated with the Jackson Housing Commission while they are on the waitlist. If an applicant family is not able to be contacted when their lottery number is pulled, they will be removed from the waitlist.
